E-GEOS has signed two contracts with the Joint Research centre of the European Commission and with the European Union Satellite Centre, the total value of about 37 millions of euros, to provide satellite maps for emergency management and safety the first Contract, called “Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS)-Rapid Mapping”, was signed with the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s internal service to manage science and knowledge.

The contract was awarded to the team led by E-GeoS for the third consecutive time, after the international competitions won in 2012 and in the 2015 . The second contract signed by E-GeoS was awarded by the European Union Satellite Centre (SATCEN) for the Copernicus service under the SEA (Support to EU External Action) programme. In particular, e-geos will assist the Satcen in supporting the European Union in crisis situations and security operations outside its territory, providing geoinformation services deriving from the analysis of satellite images and data From different sources on remote and difficult to access critical areas under observation for safety issues.
