SEOUL, South Korea ― South Korea’s arms procurement agency has announced a new preferred bidder for the development of spy satellites scheduled for launched by 2023.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration, or DAPA, named the consortium of local Korea Aerospace Industries and Hanwha Systems, and French-led Thales Alenia Space, as the preferred bidder for the $930 million satellite project code-named 425.
